How MOODS Protects Your Privacy and Data
Privacy is part of the product
MOODS is built for conversations that can be personal, sensitive, and deeply private. We take the responsibility that comes with that seriously.
MOODS is a paid product supported by subscriptions. We don’t sell or rent your personal information, use your sessions to build advertising profiles, or make money from advertising based on what you share here.
Identifiable user conversations are also not used to train general-purpose AI models.
How AI is used
MOODS uses third-party AI infrastructure to generate responses, which means information from your conversation has to be processed by an AI provider for the product to work.
We try to keep the information shared outside MOODS to what’s necessary and use privacy and data-retention controls where they’re available. Information such as your email address isn’t intentionally included simply to generate an AI response.
The conversation itself, however, may contain identifying or sensitive information that you’ve chosen to share. Using MOODS therefore involves sending conversation content to an external AI provider for processing.
Memory and saved sessions
MOODS can draw from previous interactions to maintain continuity across sessions. Sealed sessions may also contribute to features such as your Codex, memories, and Self.
We’re actively improving the way memory is stored, retrieved, corrected, and removed. Those systems will continue to change as MOODS develops, so we don’t want to make claims about internal mechanics that may later be outdated.

Human access
MOODS is designed to operate without people routinely reading user conversations.
There are limited circumstances in which authorized access may be necessary, including operating or securing the service, investigating technical problems, responding to something you’ve asked us to look into, enforcing our Terms, or meeting safety or legal obligations.
Access is limited, and the contents of user sessions are treated as sensitive information.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent your personal data or use your conversations to run an advertising business.
Identifiable user conversations aren’t used to train general-purpose AI models, and the intimate material people share with MOODS isn’t treated as a commercial data asset.
Our standard
People use MOODS to explore things they may never discuss anywhere else. That asks more of us when it comes to how their information is handled.
We aim to collect and share as little information as reasonably necessary to operate MOODS, protect users, and keep the service working.
As MOODS changes, we’ll update this article to reflect what the product actually does at that time. We’d rather tell you plainly how the system works than make promises about how we hope it will work in the future.
